Refinement Lab Studio brand assets.
Refinement Lab Studio is a small website-design practice in Utah, run by a Professional Scrum Product Owner. Sites get built like products: a written plan for what each page should do, a launch in working pieces, and design grounded in real customer signal. The brand reads calm, factual, and credential-led — cool cobalt with a coral pop over warm off-white.
Logo
The logo system
The mark is a triangle of connected nodes — a small nod to thinking in systems. Pull these files rather than rebuilding or screenshotting.
Featured mark
The signature: a cobalt triangle of nodes holding coral R · L · S. Use it at roughly 80px and up — the homepage hero, the About page, social headers, business cards, anywhere the brand introduces itself.
Basic mark
Three cobalt nodes in a triangle, no letters — the everyday mark for small sizes: favicons, the navbar, the footer, app icons, anywhere around 40px or below.
Wordmark
“Refinement Lab Studio” in Inter Tight 600 with tight tracking, “Lab” tinted cobalt — a quiet wink to the surname and the credential. PNG with a transparent background; the marks above are the vector source.

Lockup
Mark plus wordmark — the combined signature for press kits and partner materials.

Horizontal lockup
Dimensional mark
A rendered, three-dimensional take on the featured mark — cobalt glass nodes and tubes with the coral R · L · S. Built for hero moments, social, and video, not as a replacement for the flat mark: keep using the vector marks above for UI, favicons, and small sizes. Transparent PNG, front view.
Clear space
Keep clear space around the mark equal to the diameter of one node on every side. Don't crowd it with other graphics or type.
Minimum size
Use the basic mark below ~40px and switch to the featured mark at ~80px and up, so the R · L · S stay legible. The SVG marks stay crisp at any size — use them for favicons and app icons.
Don't
- ·Don't recolour the mark outside the palette — cobalt nodes, coral letters.
- ·Don't stretch, rotate, or rearrange the nodes.
- ·Don't add shadows, gradients, or outlines.
- ·Don't rebuild the wordmark in another font, or tint a different word.
- ·Don't place the colour mark on a busy photo — use the knockout over a solid panel.
- ·Don't use coral as a button background — it fails contrast. CTAs are cobalt + white only.

Type
Inter Tight carries everything from display to body; JetBrains Mono is reserved for labels, eyebrows, and the credential strip. The quality bar is Lighthouse 95+ on accessibility — keep body type comfortable and never set bright coral as small text (use Coral Ink for words).

Brand voice
How Refinement Lab Studio sounds
Factual, calm, and credential-led. Plain language a local business owner understands — never agile, product, or design jargon. First-person singular, because this is one person's practice, not an agency. No marketing-speak, and no exclamation points.
Plain language, never jargon
Translate every concept into words a restaurant or boutique owner uses. Keep agile, product, and design terms out of public copy.
We agree in writing what each page should do before I build it.
We'll align on acceptance criteria for the MVP this sprint.
First person, calm register
One person runs the practice, so the voice is “I”, not a faux-agency “we”. No exclamation points, no marketing elevation, no “passionate about”.
I keep the practice small, so each project gets proper attention.
We're passionate about elevating your brand to the next level!
The credential, never the day job
The only credential is the Scrum.org PSPO — public and verifiable. Never name or hint at an employer, and never frame the work as evenings-and-weekends.
A Professional Scrum Product Owner who designs and builds websites.
Built on the side after 13 years at [employer].
Emphasis with restraint
Bold one or two key words in coral to carry the wedge. Three accents exist — cobalt, coral, champagne — but never crowd them onto one fold. Location is “Utah”, never a specific city.

Mascot
Meet Refi
Refi is the studio's hand-drawn robot — cobalt ballpoint on sketchbook paper, the node mark on its chest, and a coral spark of personality. Refi carries the warmth so the rest of the brand can stay calm and precise. Use the poses in social posts, blog headers, and empty states, and the motion loops in video. Keep the sketchbook look — don't flatten, recolour, or trace Refi into hard vector.
